The Polaris Tactical Pen is well-suited for a variety of applications. Designed with the modern utilitarian in mind, this pen is packed with features. Not only does it perform the conventional function of writing, but does so with Fisher Space Ink, allowing you to write on wet surfaces or even in space! Always ready for adventure, the Polaris Tactical Pen contains an integrated seat belt cutter, an LED light, a glass-breaker, and even a DNA catcher for self defense. You’ll feel ready to tackle the day and any emergency situation with this rugged, modern tool.

Military Grade Toughness

Combining advanced military-grade aluminum alloys with a unique feature set, this pen is as tough as your lifestyle. Similar to your keys, wallet, and phone, this tool will become one of your everyday carry items. Being packed with features, it is imperative that the design is rugged, yet functional, so that users feel inclined to keep it with them on a daily basis.

Feature Packed

The three ultra-bright 450 Lumen LEDs, glass breaker, and DNA catch are all precisely packed into the cap end of the pen without significantly increasing product footprint.

Emergency Ready

Ready for any automobile emergency situation, the discreetly tucked away seat belt cutter is made from an ultra-tough, tungsten-based alloy to easily cut through any seat belt.

Precise Fits

Packing so many features into a small package demands a high degree of detail given to tolerance, part stack up, and assembly mechanics. Our engineering team leverages CNC lathe/mill operations to massage billet aluminum alloy into a functional, rugged aesthetic. Using sheet metal bending and integrated Consumer-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) parts, advanced construction methodology was implored to provide significant cost savings during assembly. This streamlined the process and reduced fall-out rates.

Design Validation

Assembly and fit validation is critical in order to pack all these neat features into a workable form factor. Through the use of Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), our design team was able to quickly iterate and improve proposed construction methodology to arrive at the final solution. In addition, ease of use, usability, and ergonomics are critical to this product’s success, which were also tested with the 3D printing process.
