ROKID – VR GLASSES
A Look Into the Future of Augmented Reality
In collaboration with Rokid, STEL’s teams were tasked with designing a VR headset that users could wear day to day, a stylish and comfortable experience at every level.
Rokid’s vision for their headset was for museum and government agencies in the Asian market
specifically, so the headset needed to be designed for a high-use environment as well as for predominantly Asian facial features as well. Lastly, in a small VR package, temperature regulation, battery placement, and weight distribution were key to a comfortable fit and usable device.

Visual Design
The Perfect Fit

More Wearable VR
Than Ever Before
The Rokid Glasses’ final product represents a true achievement in VR headsets. Weighing in at a mere 50 grams, the experience is closer to wearing a pair of sunglasses compared to the other options on the market, which are more than twice the size.
The lightweight package includes an RGB 12 megapixel camera with autofocus and a MicroOLED high-resolution display. Adjustable nose pads accommodate user’s interpupillary distance for a comfortable, adaptable fit and experience.
Intercontinental Design
Rokid provided STEL with data specifically tailored to users in the Asian market. For a VR device, the headset fit is not only vital for comfort, but also to ensure the user is getting an accurate and enjoyable experience from a content perspective.
Beautifully Compact Technology
Once STEL had the components needed to design the headset, their design team began iterating different designs and placements for the internal components including the battery, cameras, internal processing chips, and more.
A true achievement in the VR industry, STEL and Rokid’s collaboration resulted in a product that would set the standard for wearable VR headsets.
