SB3D Academy was founded with a single goal in mind: to give young adults an advantage in the world of design. By introducing the design process early, and by providing exposure to 3D printing and other emerging technologies, attendees will gain invaluable knowledge, experience, and inspiration they can leverage in their futures.
Our course structures are modeled after the processes STEL industrial designers and engineers use to create real-world products. Starting with sketching and ideation, young creatives brainstorm ideas until they have something they can work with. Using CAD software, they then translate their concepts from paper to 3D model. Finally, their ideas are brought to life using the latest in 3D printing technology.

SB3D Academy not only allows students to explore the world of product design, but also prepares them with the skills they’ll need should they pursue a future in professional design and engineering. In addition to the industrial design and engineering processes involved in bringing a product from idea to in-hand product, we also teach the basics of creating business models and forming product branding strategies. You very well may have a young entrepreneur on your hands by the end of the Academy!
